Dear Friends, This year is almost on its last few days, many great things happened this year, but perhaps the most significant one, was becoming a father - WOW... would have never thought it would be this much fun! I just returned from a mining conference in Quebec City, where I got a chance to meet many close friends from the Quebec Cree communities for one last time this year. I have a lot of work to complete before the end of the year and for the most part it shoud be easier now that the golf courses are now officially closed! What is new for 2010 - we are refocusing the efforts of our work, rebranding the organization and finding better ways to explain what we do, our new slogan "Think, Oragnize, Activate" which describes very vividly what we do, will help us move the company forward. In the mining side, we are working with a few Aboriginal communities as advisors and providing much needed support in terms of information and business expertise. The goal for next year is to focus on increasing the interaction with the industry in order to share the Learning Together message. |

I am now a published writer! NOT exactly my final goal in writing, since I have actually been working on two books for the past 4-6 years, but either way a published writer! The Canadian Institute of Mining invited me to be a monthly contributor to their magazine. My articles are about First Nations and mining negotiations. I guess since for the past 6-7 years, I have spent a lot of my time working closely with various First Nation communities negotiating agreements that might make them think I am an expert on the subject. Or maybe it was the fact that I organize a National conference on the subject that might lead them to think that I know a thing or two about it. Well, for whatever reason they had, I am glad to be writing for them! |

It has been sometime since I have written in my blog, I did keep my promise to have a daily story during the 30 days of the campaign. Anyhow, I wanted to share some good news and since a lot of my family and friends check this website, I have decided to post it here. I have been nominated for the award of "10 most influential hispanic canadians" below is my profile for the nomination. |
